Each time a Halo was released, it was always a moment in the history of gaming. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox One division, wishes to do the same this time too, when releasing the much awaited game, Halo 5.

In an interview with GameBox, Phil Spencer talks about the future of Halo, as he sees it. He says that Halo might become as legendary as Star Wars and Spider-Man and has the longevity to stay as long as these two, the only two games that have spanned decades and exploded across devices and horizons. It seems that Xbox One has high expectations for this game to carry it into the much competitive business of gaming console amidst launches of products like Apple TV.

 - Halo has always been a big moment and just like Halo 2, 3 and 4 that everyone remembers it vividly, Halo 5 is sure to be a big marketing blitz. Spencer added that they are going to do the same this time too, and Halo is a franchise that can take that level of notoriety and exposure.

Thus, not just fans, but also the Xbox One is all curious and excited about eh upcoming release and they all believe in one thing, that is, "Halo 5 has done a very good job again". However, for the rest of us, we have to wait till the unraveling on October 27th.

One of the biggest reasons that Halo has become a franchise is that despite being a shooter game, but still is somewhat unique in story and style. Gamers know the story well through time and taken alongside the iconic characters of the game, it build some sort of a bond between them. Spencer thinks that this is one of its real strengths.

 - He said, "They know who Master Chief is" and this is not always true with other games and this consistency in the story and the characters is what persuades people to get attached to it and stay that way.

Spencer is expecting Halo to be an IP and a franchise and considers it to stay as long as 20 years or so in the future, much like Star Wars or Spider-Man. As gamers, they all believe that it has potential to do so considering all the aforementioned merits. Halo 5 will resume the story that began decades ago.
